Only 25 Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren "McLaren Edition" models were built by McLaren Special Operations (MSO). This was an upgrade program offered to existing SLR owners after the car's initial production ended in 2010. The 25 conversions were split between coupes and roadsters: Coupes: 19 Roadsters: 6 The McLaren Edition was not a factory-produced model, but rather a bespoke conversion program that allowed owners to send their cars back to McLaren for significant enhancements. Upgrades included: Revised bodywork, including new front and rear bumpers, grilles, side gills, and a rear diffuser. Upgraded steering and suspension components for improved handling. A new titanium sports exhaust. Extensive interior and exterior cosmetic customization to the owner's specifications.
